Located a half block from the beach boardwalk, these two townhouses are designed to participate in the vibrant spirit of the Alki neighborhood in Seattle. Glass façades maximize views and invite a dialogue with the neighborhood.

The two units range from 1,800 to 2,100 SF. Each is three-bedroom with two master suites, and is equipped with a two-car garage. The building is located near the old town of Cracow, in the calm district of detached houses, on the hill with beautiful view of Wawel and the mountains. The investor’s idea was that the house should be as high as possible because of the beautiful view, and preserve spatial relations between all floors with the largest as possible opening of the space.

The building stands on the highest point of the street – distinguished by Its cubic form and smooth white elevations, it is the dominant culmination of the surrounding architecture. Mini House architecture firm by Filter architecture

This individual residential house is located in a suburb of Sarajevo. The house was designed in the ambit of an older building on the same site, which was an urbanistic requirement. The program demanded a much greater capacity for the new facility.

For this reason, a concept is created for reduction of the horizontal communication into vertical ones and for use of the basement floor for habitation by introducing lighting through denivelled patio. Rooms are becoming platforms that are distributed around the spiral staircase while catching views of the surrounding countryside and high mountains in the background, through internal and external openings.

GHERKIN BUILDING GOES GREEN!

Under pressure from other more sustainable buildings popping up around the world, such as the recently featured Bahrain World trade Center, London’s Gherkin Tower, designed by Norman Foster, has recently begun testing an innovative vegetated facade panel which promises to change the face of building design forever. This new “Green wall” product, known as the Core Hydraulic Integrated Arboury panel,
promises to bring the benefits of green roofs to any exterior surface of skyscraper.

longaberker building : amazing architecture

While driving by on a highway in central Ohio minding my own business, I passed this odd building. Imagine
one's surprise as you drive by this anamoly. Its a basket...No its a building....Its a basket building. And it was right next to a highway. Imagine how many accidents happened on that stretch of highway in front of the building...
Later I learned that the company named Longaberger, makers of, surprise surprise, baskets, have the HQ in that basket...errr...building.
